In the thick of it. Rheines Wasser.

1,231 kilometres is the distance Prof Dr Andreas Fath will cover swimming in the river Rhine in summer 2014, right from the source to the mouth. His project is called ‘Rheines Wasser’ (pure water), a wordplay made up of the German spelling for the river Rhine, Rhein, and the German word for pure, ‘rein’, and is intended to campaign for a better quality of drinking water. Prof Fath wishes to raise funds for research into new, better water purification systems. wolftechnik is a sponsor of this project, which started on 28 July 2014 with Andreas Fath’s first dive into the cold Alpine water.

Joining in. A clear business.

Filter systems from wolftechnik have been used for sample taking by the Alfred-Wegener-Institut for a long time. Over the years, an excellent and trusting cooperation has developed between the Alfred-Wegener-Institut and wolftechnik. As a result, we are being recommended as a consultant and supplier in numerous projects. That‘s because we‘re always glad to make our expertise and experience available to our clients in order to provide them with the optimal solution for their filtration tasks.

This is also how our first contact with Prof Andreas Fath and his team came about. We were amazed by the idea of this unique campaign from the very beginning and couldn‘t wait to see the next planning steps. Many telephone calls and deliberations later it was clear which filter systems would be used and how we could contribute to the project. Since then we have excitedly followed, via the media and the Internet, the progress of the project and the swimming legs covered by Prof Fath from the river Rhine’s source to its mouth into the North Sea in Dutch Hoek van Holland. On each of the 25 day legs of the project, samples of equal amount are taken from the river.

With filter systems from wolftechnik, the solids are isolated from the Rhine water to be later examined in the Alfred-Wegener-Institut. It was a particular pleasure for us to see our filter casings in use in a TV report from Landesschau Baden-Württemberg. The team at wolftechnik is admittedly rather proud to be allowed to contribute to this impressing big project as an official supplier and sponsor.

On 10 August, wolftechnik Managing Director Peter Krause visited Prof Dr Andreas Fath during his 12th leg from Kehl to Iffezheim on the river Rhine. The meeting was organised by the nice people from the campaign management of ‘Rheines Wasser’, and Peter Krause received a warm welcome on the accompanying boat. In this way he was able to be present in person at one of the sample takings and to accompany the swimming professor for a little way down the Rhine.

The team at wolftechnik wishes the ‘Rheines Wasser’ campaign and Prof Andreas Fath in particular much power and success for the project!

More information about the ‘Rheines Wasser’ campaign and the status of the legs covered are to be found on a daily basis on the campaign website www.rheines-wasser.eu and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/rheineswasser?fref=ts.

We thank you for sharing this and for your support.

The new catalogue is here.

The new 2015 catalogue has arrived! For the first time, we have combined the ‘Express Couplings & Fittings’ and ‘Filter Components and Casings’ catalogues in a General Catalogue. It boasts 296 pages and contains detailed information about our novelties and our tried and tested products for the separation of solids and fluids as well as for the connection of hoses.

The entirely reviewed chapter 10, ‘Express Couplings & Fittings’, surprises with a new

arrangement and an overview of the available couplings, plugs and fittings. In addition, the section about. CPC express couplings was complemented by to-scale illustrations of the connectors. The new layout significantly facilitates searching and finding of the right connector!

With clear texts and high-quality illustrations, chapters 1 to 9 convey the features and benefits of products for the filtration of solids from liquids and provide information about their use. The information offer is complemented by comprehensive technical data, charts, drawings and spread sheets. They provide both buyers and engineers with useful information for the right choice of products. The 2015 General Catalogue is now available for you in German. Please contact us to order the print edition.

  CP2- Depth filter cartridge, nominal

Depth filter made of PP-Bi-component-fibers

The CP2-Depth filter cartridge consists of 100% Polypropylene-Bi-component-fibers which are thermally bonded together at their cross points. The attained ultra pure and exceptionally compact filter matrix assures a repetitious accuracy of filtration characteristics for top quality applications. The CP2-depth filter cartridge is a typical clarification cartridge with a graded density pore structure and finer filter ration from the outside to the inside. The stable depth filter structure assures high flow rate and a long service life without loss in particle retention efficiency even at high ranges of differential pressure.

  Centrifugal Separators

WTAA Automatic Discharge Device

The Automatic Discharge Device type WTAA is used to release the separated and permanently new accruing solids from the dirt collection chamber of the WTZA-Centrifugal separators or the WTSRF-Self Cleaning Filters. Suitable to fit the connection sizes of the drain ports the WTAA Automatic Discharge Device is available in different connection sizes from ¾“ - 1 ½“. There is a choice of different kind of connections like internal threads, flanges, TriClamp or welding nozzles. All discharge devices are equipped with a 2-2-way-membrane-valve and a controller-head. At the controller head you can find the connections for the compressed air (3-7 bar) as well as the connection for the 24V/DC power supply. The intervals and opening time to release the solids depends on the amount of solids and the particle size. There are 8 fixed programmed intervals which can be adjusted by dip-switches. Individual operation times can be programmed by factory. In manual mode two push buttons to open and close the valve are available.
