Andreas Fath works at the Hochschule Furtwangen on a research project for water purification systems. The target of his work is the optimized treatment of the Rhine water in to a lower pollutant content of drinking water. Hormones, pesticides, antibiotics, drugs and fertilizers burden the Rhine and cannot be removed by 100% with the previous water treatment. To enable him to continue his research project for an improved water purification, the Professor will, accompanied by an attendant and film team, throw himself for four weeks into the flood.
Andreas Fath will take water samples on numerous stations of the Rhine. The Alfred Wegener Institute in Helgoland will analyze the samples taken with the filters and fittings from Wolftechnik.
