In the thick of it. Rheines Wasser.

In the thick of it. Rheines Wasser.

1,231 kilometres is the distance Prof Dr Andreas Fath will cover swimming in the river Rhine in summer 2014, right from the source to the mouth. His project is called ‘Rheines Wasser’ (pure water), a wordplay made up of the German spelling for the river Rhine, Rhein, and the German word for pure, ‘rein’, and is intended to campaign for a better quality of drinking water. Prof Fath wishes to raise funds for research into new, better water purification systems. wolftechnik is a sponsor of this project, which started on 28 July 2014 with Andreas Fath’s first dive into the cold Alpine water.

Joining in. A clear business.

Filter systems from wolftechnik have been used for sample taking by the Alfred-Wegener-Institut for a
long time. Over the years, an excellent and trusting cooperation has developed between the Alfred-Wegener-Institut and wolftechnik. As a result, we are being recommended as a consultant and supplier in numerous projects. That‘s because we‘re always glad to make our expertise and experience available to our clients in order to provide them with the optimal solution for their filtration tasks.

This is also how our first contact with Prof Andreas Fath and his team came about. We were amazed by
the idea of this unique campaign from the very beginning and couldn‘t wait to see the next planning steps. Many telephone calls and deliberations later it was clear which filter systems would be used and how we could contribute to the project. Since then we have excitedly followed, via the media and the Internet, the progress of the project and the swimming legs covered by Prof Fath from the river Rhine’s source to its mouth into the North Sea in Dutch Hoek van Holland.

On each of the 25 day legs of the project, samples of equal amount are taken from the river. With filter
systems from wolftechnik, the solids are isolated from the Rhine water to be later examined in the Alfred-Wegener-Institut. It was a particular pleasure for us to see our filter casings in use in a TV report from Landesschau Baden-Württemberg. The team at wolftechnik is admittedly rather proud to be allowed to contribute to this impressing big project as an official supplier and sponsor.

On 10 August, wolftechnik Managing Director Peter Krause visited Prof Dr Andreas Fath during his 12th leg from Kehl to Iffezheim on the river Rhine. The meeting was organised by the nice people from the campaign management of ‘Rheines Wasser’, and Peter Krause received a warm welcome on the accompanying boat. In this way he was able to be present in person at one of the sample takings and to accompany the swimming professor for a little way down the Rhine.

The team at wolftechnik wishes the ‘Rheines Wasser’ campaign and Prof Andreas Fath in particular much power and success for the project!
